PT Log 2010 May

May29.10 Gym. Flea Market.
• Bicep curl, 5lb*10rep*3sets.
• SuperSet w/ Crunches 10rep*3sets.
• Dont-Drop-Its, 10lb*10rep*3sets. Almost DID drop it on last set!
• Calf raises *10rep*3sets.
• Calf raises (one leg) *5rep*3sets each leg.
Husband threatened me with "Suicides" later today (evil sprints).
Home to shower, breakfast, and off to Flea Market. Got some market peaches, etceteras, and some fantastic Raspberry-Chocolate Port (26$, more on that later).
Came home, whipped up a second loaf of banana bread and some orange-chicken thighs (for Shane's lunch). After dinner I had some Chocolate fudge sugar-free fat-free Jello pudding, along with a glass of that Raspberry Chocolate Port, and I love it. I think it's better than the 20 year Sandeman's I love. I HAVE to get more. It would have to be a real treat though, 26$ is such too much to have all the time *though it'll last a few days.
Finished out the night blogging (ah, comfy) with a glass of Sutter Home white zin. I like being back off the wagon, long as we do it reasonably. I hate being paranoid :P
The photos:
The car... used to be a Jag. Now it's proof that, as my husband says, some people should be paid in groceries. Think his kids have college funds?
Snacks at the Flea Market apparently include Fried Gator Tails. No.. I didn't try one. I didn't feel like spending the flea market's remaining hour on their unsanitary toilet, begging for death.
A conch shell over a rose compass, as a garden flag. This, I wish I could have purchased (though Husband keeps telling me that I need to hold off on the house stuff til I have a house.)
The banana bread I made! Dressed it with almonds this time. Looks great, but I know my old recipe is better.
Okay, that's about it. Night!
*PS: I didn't have to do suicides ;)

Brain death sets in.
Empty couple days. Didn't do the Calusa Nature Center: turns out he doesn't really want to go (I figured) so I need to pick a day to go alone.
Deb made a fantastic Spetzla(sp) & Meatballs. I made a pretty good stuffed tomato (rosted, filled with cous-cous, with parmesan and feta). Loved it. Its almost a cook-off around here. I'ma tell Shane it's his turn.
Patriot Games: good flick.
Gosh I feel so brain dead.

Facebook and Privacy: My 2c.
She told me, through email, that the reason she had "exited the Matrix" was because of the "Privacy" setting issues that have been so popular lately. She referred me to This Website, an interview with Rich Mogull (no really, that's his name, it isn't a spoof!) on Privacy Policies. Aside from the fact that most people don't read Privacy Policies, Terms of Service, or take note of tidbits like "We reserve the right to change our policies at any time, most likely without notice". While I didn't know that the Library of Congress is archiving all Tweets, I had learned long ago never to put anything up on the internet that you wouldn't want your Grandmother to see. I went to go play with these new privacy settings, and found most to my liking. I did however stumble onto this:
"What your friends can share about you: Control what your friends can share about you when using applications and websites." When your friend visits a Facebook Platform application or website, they may want to share certain information to make the experience more social. For example, a greeting card application may use your birthday information to prompt your friend to send a card.
This section here almost smacked me in the face. Several of the settings in this section counter settings in my personal Privacy settings; this means that though I've set something private in my personal settings (such as my birthday, videos, pictures, etc) if they are checked in this second section THEY CAN AND WILL BE SHARED by my FB-Friends. ... Um.. If I already told you once I wanted something private, why should there be a second section to loophole around that by persons OTHER than me? Even though I don't put up anything I don't want my Grandmother to see, in the interest of internet safety (and the figment of privacy) I keep my photos etc set to "Friends Only". This loophole, improperly cauterized, would completely bypass my settings. I'm not so naive as to think that my information isn't getting "out there" anyway, but I'd like to be the only one leaking it, ya know?
So, in light of my apparently crutching on social networks to keep in touch with people I care exist (and the unfortunate side-effect of allowing people who could barely pick me out of a crowd today but passed by me in the hall in High School to "friend" me) I'd like to pare down my 105 friends to Family, those people who's profile I particularly check up on, and add, those who aren't already in my Address Book, to it. Social Networking sites should be an add-on to communication, a blurb in the contact sheet, not my only means of communication with someone.

*The Picasa Album for all these Photos*
This, is the best shot that came out of the shot, photography-wise. We got to see the Serengeti Plain afterall. The path out of Edge of Africa flanked the Serengeti Plain. We saw the Serengeti Safari people petting the giraffe, we were just happy to get to see the animals. Don't pass over the meerkat pictures, they are fantastic. Shane said they're Border Collies with Chipmunk bodies. I love the fat one on top, King Meerkat. And the one all sleepy on the ground; we've coined her the Kona of the bunch.
We came down and hurried into the Gorilla exhibit, the line was still outside Montu. Even if Montu had been open right then, I'm glad we saw the Gorillas instead. They were so neat! We watched this HUGE silverback chase down they other gorillas, and watched a younger gorilla jump up to snatch a banana from a tree and haul tail to is little wall-cave. The whole place was so awesome. As a bonus, this is were I got a video of Shane petting a squirrel. I got a good shot of a beautiful waterfall through a flowering trellis.
*This page took me 5 hours to write, between img sizing and distractions (Rook!). The images took me two hours to work on the other day. That makes 7 hours at least. Wow. ;)
